Source Work Roadmap

The Nigeria Papers™ is live in public beta. The pages and tools are real, but several datasets are still being moved from structural scaffolding to fully source-backed records. This page tracks that work openly.

• Master brief — staged upgrades

  The original master brief remains the project reference. The first Africa collection, source archive and core page improvements are released incrementally; more countries, full official contacts, detailed loan tracing and social features follow evidence and infrastructure checks.

• History and archive collection

  Ongoing

  Daily collection of permitted source metadata and historical economic observations, with provenance, deduplication and editorial review status. Restricted repositories remain reference links pending permission.

• Community groups, following and live calls

  Next

  Discussion threads and replies first. Groups, social connections and audio/video need real storage, permissions, moderation and calling infrastructure before launch.

• State debt and budget source attachment

  In Progress

  Row-by-row links to DMO subnational bulletins, state budget PDFs and state Auditor-General reports for all 36 states + FCT.

• President debt and deficit source attachment

  In Progress

  Each presidency row in /debt linked to the exact DMO quarterly bulletin or CBN statistical bulletin page.

• Project and contract citation review

  In Progress

  Every project and contract dossier to carry a primary BPP / NOCOPO / Budget Office citation before leaving Editorial Draft.

• News-audit scoring review

  Next

  Move outlet entries from editorial draft to published scores against the public rubric, with reviewer initials.

• Evidence Vault expansion

  Ongoing

  Expand manually reviewed source links to DMO, NBS, CBN, Budget Office, BPP/NOCOPO, World Bank, IMF and Auditor-General records. Collection permission and access vary by institution.

• AI Investigator source expansion

  Grow the retrieval corpus so answers cite multiple primary sources per claim and refuse confidently when none exist.

• Community moderation rollout

  Public discussions with reviewer queue, abuse controls, and clear separation between citizen submissions and editorial findings.
